Morton Safford James III AIA Architects P.S.

We have been in business for over 34 years, in that time we have designed a wide range of projects, from small additions to large multimillion dollar mixed use projects, and we pride ourselves in the high number of repeat clients from both ends of the spectrum. We take a proactive approach and provide excellent service.

Our projects display a high level of design quality that endures. We do not do 'flowers' (beautiful today - wilted tomorrow).

We have received design awards from the AIA, and recognition for our Sustainable, Green Projects. Our Headquarters Building for the Washington State Parks and Recreation Committee's was recently certified as a "LEED GOLD" Project.

We are a small firm by choice. It enhances our ability to listen and provide proactive service to our Clients. Our primary goal as a firm is the facilitation of sustainable, timeless architectural design that meets our client's needs. We believe these are key elements to Client longevity and success in a prosperous, growing, and healthy community.

We are part of this community, volunteering whenever and wherever our talents can be helpful. We participate in public meetings, serve on committees, in an effort to make this a better place to live and keep us informed on what is going on in our neighborhoods and cities.

We participate in "continuing education" attending related conferences and classes on a regular basis. Janet Knoblach became a LEED Accredited Practitioner in 2006.

We are part or the Thurston Green Business group within the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce. We are active in the Southwest Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Each of us as former board members and supportive volunteers serving on committees and attending regional and national conventions whenever possible.
